Terms of Service

1. The deal

TradeRewind is a personal trading journal service operated by Christian Valeo as an individual ("we", "us", "the service"). By creating an account or using anything at traderewindjournal.com, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

2. What TradeRewind is

TradeRewind helps you log, review, and analyze your own trading activity. We provide tools — you provide the trades, notes, and screenshots. We do not execute trades, hold funds, or connect to your brokerage account (unless you explicitly enable a broker sync feature in the future).

3. NOT financial advice

This is the most important section. Read it.

Nothing in TradeRewind is financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. This includes:

• Your own stats, equity curves, win rates, or analytics
• Posts from other users in community features
• Leaderboards, "Trade of the Day," group P&L, or any social/comparison element
• Anything we write in the UI, tooltips, marketing, or anywhere else

Trading involves substantial risk of loss. You can lose more than you invest. Past performance does not predict future results. You are 100% responsible for your own trading decisions. Don't trade based on what other users post, share, or claim. We are not licensed financial advisors and we don't pretend to be.

4. Your account

• You must be 18 years or older to use TradeRewind.
• Sign-in is through Discord. Keep your Discord account secure — anyone who can access it can access your TradeRewind account.
• One account per person. No sharing, reselling, or automating account creation.
• You are responsible for everything that happens on your account.

5. Your content

• Trade data, notes, screenshots, and avatars you upload are yours. We don't claim ownership.
• You grant us a limited license to display your content within the service so the app can function (e.g., showing your trades to communities you've joined).
• Don't post anything illegal, harassing, defamatory, infringing on someone's IP, or sexually explicit.
• Don't impersonate other people or claim affiliations you don't have.
• We can remove content or restrict your account if you violate these rules.

6. Community features

If you join a community group, you opt in to having other members of that group see the trades you share to the feed. Be respectful. Don't dox, harass, or scam other members. We can remove content, revoke community access, or terminate accounts for violations.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep TradeRewind running but we don't guarantee uptime. We may need to do maintenance, fix bugs, change or remove features, or take the service offline temporarily. Things sometimes break. We're working on it.

8. Pricing and changes

TradeRewind is currently free. If we introduce paid plans, we'll give existing users notice before any features they're already using become paid. We may update these terms — if we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or in-app, and continued use after that means you accept the changes.

9. Termination

• You can delete your account anytime by emailing cjvaleo@gmail.com. Deletion removes your data from our active database.
• We can suspend or terminate accounts for terms violations, illegal use, or extended inactivity.
• We may give notice before termination unless the situation requires immediate action.

10. Limitation of liability

TradeRewind is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent allowed by law:

• We are not liable for any trading losses, missed opportunities, lost data, downtime, or other damages connected to your use of the service.
• Our total liability for any claim is limited to whatever you've paid us in the prior 12 months (which is $0 if you're on the free plan).

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify TradeRewind against any claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA. Any dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration in New Jersey rather than in court, except for small-claims matters or injunctive relief for IP violations.

Privacy Policy

TL;DR

• We collect what's needed to run the app: your Discord account info (user ID, username, server nickname, role), the trades you log, screenshots you upload, and profile settings.
• We don't sell your data. Ever.
• We don't run advertising or third-party tracking.
• We use Supabase as our backend to store everything.
• You can delete your account and all your data anytime.

What we collect

Account info

You sign in with Discord (OAuth). When you authorize, Discord shares:

• Your Discord user ID and username
• Your nickname and role in our Discord server (used to verify membership and access)
• The email address on your Discord account (used to link your TradeRewind account — we never see a password)

Inside the app we also store:

• Display name
• Avatar settings (color finish, optional uploaded photo, initials)

Trading data

• Symbols, sides (long/short), entry/exit prices, quantities, P&L, dates
• R-multiples, notes, tags, session info — whatever you log
• Screenshots you upload to trades

Community activity (only if you join a community)

• Posts you share to a group
• Replies and likes
• Communities you've joined

Technical info

• Basic browser user-agent string
• IP address (used for authentication only, not tracked or stored long-term)

What we DON'T collect

• We do NOT connect to your real brokerage account or hold any funds.
• We do NOT track you across other websites.
• We do NOT run third-party analytics or fingerprinting.
• We do NOT sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.

Where it's stored

All data is stored using Supabase (supabase.com), a backend platform that hosts our database and file storage. Supabase encrypts data in transit and at rest. We do not move your data to any other third party for marketing or processing.

Who can see what

• Default: your trades, notes, and screenshots are private to you.
• Communities: if you share a trade to a community group, members of that community can see it. You control what gets shared.
• Public profile fields: your display name, username, and avatar are readable by other authenticated users of the service so community features can identify you. Your email and trade data are NOT public.

Cookies and storage

We use:

• One auth session token (so you stay signed in across visits)
• LocalStorage for some UI preferences (sidebar collapsed state, etc.)

We do NOT use:

• Tracking cookies
• Advertising pixels
• Cross-site identifiers

Your rights

• Delete your account: email cjvaleo@gmail.com to request deletion. This removes your account and all associated data.
• Export your data: email cjvaleo@gmail.com to request a copy of your data. We'll send it within 30 days.
• Correct your data: edit your profile, trades, and notes directly in the app.
• Stop using the service: just stop. We don't lock you in.

Children

TradeRewind is not intended for anyone under 18. If you are under 18, do not use the service. If we learn we've collected data from someone under 18, we'll delete it.

Security

We follow reasonable security practices but no online service is 100% secure. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you promptly.

Third-party services we use

• Supabase — backend database and file storage (their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy)
• Vercel — hosting (their privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy)

That's it. We don't use other third parties to process your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we change anything significant, we'll notify you by email or in-app banner. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
